Jinotega
Jinotega is located in the central region of Nicaragua, along the Honduran border. It is one of the larger coffee producing Departments, and it has large areas of rain forest which have been preserved by their relative inaccessibility.
Jinotega has spectacular natural landscapes, and a rich history seen in its towns and colonial churches. Jinotega also has one of the few hydroelectric plants in the country, and supplies a good deal the nation's electricity.
